growing up this was absolutely a thing. child of a single parent home, mom was exhausted. now, the wife and I go entire weeks where neither of us feel like making a lot of food or dirtying a clean kitchen. adulting is tiring.

yes ma was done being a short order cook for us by time we were in jr high. sibling and ourselves became quite skilled at scrounging leftovers or creating something simple.

I don't know. Because Mom rarely cooked. It was up to Sis and I to take care of ourselves more often than not. We ate a *lot* of grilled cheese, mac-and-cheese, and such.
