So hey, here's a thing I don't think a lot of folks know: That whole "Patient Zero" thing? The French-Canadian airhost who supposedly spread HIV all over America?
That's not real. That's not what happened or how it happened.

I really wish people understood how losing engagement places like bsky really hurts sex workers.
I do have a full time job but SW helps me out since I don't make enough from that job alone.
There are plenty of other SWers here who do SW full time!!!!
Please support us, thx. 🖤🧡

We’ve finally resumed, this time with acceptable sound for the audiophile @ashmcgonigal.com.
I either forgot Harry Connick Jr was in this or didn’t know who he was back then bc his appearance was a surprise!

I love that movie so damn much. Pinnacle of the disaster action genre imo; after that it’s like they all decided they had to keep one-upping each other and it very quickly became an untenable assault on the senses for me.

Yeah, I got a ton of that with regard to whatever’s going on with me physically (most likely fibromyalgia). I’ve always been good at self-advocating in the mental health sphere; the regular medical sphere is harder bc their egos and biases get in the way.

Then a friend showed up needing a ride, right as Ash put the last book back on the shelf.
This is why we rarely watch movies, but this is such a great one! Definitely my favorite disaster action movie.

Oh that! I don’t really blame them, PMDD and bipolar can present really similarly and I only made the connection in retrospect bc I’m AuDHD and my interoception is shit. It’s off my chart now, anyway. I went completely unmedicated for nearly a decade and did not have any mania in all that time so. 🤷🏻♀️

Also doubly lucky that not only is our insurance affordable, the appointments and meds are free. It’s any other medical/dental work where I’d have to meet a deductible, which we cannot pay bc single-income household/gov’t doesn’t think I’m disabled enough 😩

I’m very lucky to have a great therapist and also a great psych LPN, who continue to see me remotely. They help a lot, but I have been stuck in a pit of grief that I know added meds wouldn’t touch without making me a zombie. It’s just other docs I avoid bc they don’t take Covid precautions 😩

I was misdiagnosed with bipolar 2 back when I had a uterus. That was, in fact, PMDD, which rectified itself after the hysterectomy. And I’ve never had psychosis before, but it was a truly remarkable set of events that set it off, so my brain probably is safe until Alzheimer’s hits.
But. 😳

So uh, I guess we’ll get back to Independence Day soon? Maybe he’ll paint the living room first 😂

We made it 34 minutes into the movie, then we took a break, then it was time to feed the cats, and when I came back into the living room, @ashmcgonigal.com had taken half the books off our bookshelf bc he’s moving a speaker. “You left me alone,” he said when I sputtered out “What happened?”
