As a NYer, I don’t understand the outrage over Hochul’s decision as if congestion pricing was going to fix mass transit & solve climate change.
The plan was like a sales tax, not targeted at only those who could afford it, but everyone.
It was in effect on weekends, when there’s no congestion.

What I love about your writing is that you put in context where it's relevant instead of burying it at the end of the article and using weasel words to hide the meaning.
I just read Crabgrass Frontier, which is almost 40 years old now, and it's disheartening to see that nothing has changed re: the destruction of community and mass/public transportation. =\
