I also think there's WAY too much hang wringing over when justices retire, because old age is not the only thing that can end their tenure. Sotomayor resigning now would be a soggy Band-Aid on a judicial system that needs fundamental reform.

RGB should have resigned sooner, absolutely. But that alone wouldn't have made a huge difference, especially when a lot of these awful decisions have been 6-3. I place more blame on Kennedy for selling his seat. And also, obviously trying to blame one person-- a Jewish woman at that-- is icky.

My point is that many "all religions are bad" folks couldn't tell you a thing about any religion other then Christianity. They just assume all religions are the same, they are all like Christianity. Their Atheism is informed only by Christianity and so they are inadvertently Christian supremacists.
