What I wish non New Yorkers knew about New York is how local it is. It just took me 20 minutes to walk around the block because one neighbor invited me to their street barbecue, another wanted to talk about the Knicks, and my super’s grandson came over to let my dog.

Nothing says #July4 like a juicy slice of watermelon. This delicious fruit doesn't just appear on our picnic table. It takes a lot of work. An average watermelon weighs 20 lbs. It's 100+ degrees in Bakersfield today. Can you imagine harvesting them in high temps? #WeFeedYou

Same here- fireworks have been going on for days and aside from my own migraines and anxiety, my poor dog has been unable to settle, alternating between crying and barking at the noise.
