Honestly, I think you have to decide: - can I just take a few weeks off from my research because it's too depressing? - can I go on vacation? - can I find small research tasks to work on that are non-substantive?

A reason I like to travel is that it exposes me to the absolute psychotic behavior of the world. Like: - wearing leather pants on an 11 hr flight - ordering a combo of whiskey, tomato juice, & diet coke w breakfast - 4 adults holding hands & walking slowly in an international airport

Okay so I definitely agree. My favorite store bread is this on a lightly toasted sourdough. My fav homemade is focaccia! I know the traditional is like a 120 grain whole wheat but I ate too much of that in childhood and it's a no go for me 😅

Interpersonal violence is a direct contributor to homelessness, esp when people do not have access to services.
It means that victims of domestic violence will end up in jail.

One consequence of the SC ruling on homelessness is that it further centers jails (esp rural jails) as THE social service provider in communities. That's... bad. AND it means that sheriffs make policy decisions abt who gets these services. Their individual attitudes matter for these decisions:
