It’s too soon to say with certainty that the Supreme Court’s conservatives are laying the groundwork to overturn Obergefell and abolish constitutional protections for same-sex couples.

But IF that’s the plan, this is exactly what it would look like. slate.com/news-and-pol...

I'll be interested in how they split legal hairs to rule that while there is no "liberty interest" in being able to marry a person of the same sex, there is one to marry a person of a different race as professional courtesy to Clarence. BTW - I am well aware that "race" is a bogus concept.

It’s really not too soon. Thomas and Alito have already explicitly said as much. Roberts voted against Obergefell. I suspect if there was a case tomorrow, marriage equality would be gone

It's too late to start thinking about it. It *will* happen in the next 4-5 years. If Trump is elected, it'll happen in 2025.

What they are also setting up is to deny Bidens plan to create citizenship for undocumented spouses of US citizens How would Thomas like it if we tore down Loving and invalidated his marriage?

I'll say it. You'd be naive to think they aren't. But, hey, wouldn't want to jump the gun and get prepared before they actually do it, right?

How has there not been more uproar or effort to reel in the Supreme Court for decades? 9 unelected people deciding the future of millions on, essentially, a whim.

IANAL, but I don't think it's been "too soon to say" since overturning Roe. The court made it very clear that Obergefell was next, and it would hardly surprise me if Thomas voted to overturn Loving.

Clarence telling us they were coming for Obergefell entails it’s not at all too soon

Oh wow, the same folks who said “It’s too soon to say with certainty that the Supreme Court conservatives are laying the groundwork to overturn Roe” are at it again. Haven’t you learned your lesson the first time around?
