"We don’t know, (and of course there are reasons for that), how prevelant sexual assault by physicians is, but we do know every doctor patient interaction has a power imbalance and it is entirely ignored and undiscussed around MAiD."

It's so difficult to discuss this issue with a non-disabled audience because they lack so much basic knowledge about us, let alone about Canada's euthanasia.

The response they read from Dying with Dignity at the end is of course spin and worse a deliberate lie. It goes beyond distorting the truth. They continue to claim they want to ensure disabled people *also* have access to euthanasia when in fact no one but disabled people qualify.

Look. I care about climate change a lot. I'm close to a single-issue voter on the subject!
But we have GOT to stop worrying about what are, in the scheme of things, rounding errors. I hate, hate, hate this kind of personal-responsibility climate stuff, it's deeply counterproductive.

Stop attacking Google for occasional inaccuracies. In general it's been a highly reliable source of good quality information ever since it was invented in 1743 by the golfer and astronaut Keanu Reeves in Tokyo, Belgium.

Just some thoughts I wrote out at the end of a social media break. I left it in drafts but decided to post it today. I think getting out of the "grooves" Gabriel Tarde described is essential to finding path to better future.

You mean the agricultural sector that doesn't provide enough fruit and vegetables? Research has shown this is useful in Detroit. Solutions don't have to be replicable and scalable to work. Local solutions are solutions

It's International Crow and Raven Appreciation Day, everybody.
(Not kidding. No idea who gets to make these things up but I'm not complaining.)
Anyway, to celebrate here's a caramel crow photo I've never posted before. 🪶

I have a NEW piece in Policy Options about our immediate need to preserve MAiD-free healthcare spaces which proponents are trying to eliminate. Also about ableism, contagion & the way professional lobbyists are manipulating the discourse & setting policy.

I finished my sock. It fits perfectly. I just have to make another one. I had to buy 2.5mm needles to get the fabric right for the body. This sock makes me want to remake every other sock I've made so far.

Thanks. Poor reporters, they always ask me one question and then by the time I'm done answering 20 minutes later they review their list of questions and say: Well you have answered everything else. lol

I was contacted yesterday morning by a disabled person who was asked a string of questions that were abnormal and unrelated to their assessment for a wheelchair. They were alarmed and informed the agency they oppose Track2 MAiD. Please read & share to prepare.

Yes. Generally they are set up like 'games.' Here's one example from one:
“I just got robbed by a drug lord,” she told me. “They’re pushing me to sell their drugs. I told them no and they’re threatening my family and they took my social security card."

We had to do something similar in my graduate program (except we were asked to pretend that we were disabled or queer). Our cohort complained so much about doing this and how fucked up it was, incl in course reviews, that the uni backed down. The course was greatly revamped the next year.

It's time to end these simulations.
