everyone had PTSD post-Katrina and bugged the hell out of dodge, resulting in the worst gridlock in Houston history. (we left EARLY and missed the mess). Rita downsized from a cat 5 to a cat 3 before landfall, considerably east of Houston. all that for nothing.

i remember TS allison in '01. I had two littles sound asleep in bunk beds and I stood at the front door watching the water creep up the driveway toward the house. it stopped about 8' or so from the garage, then slowly receded. we were a fucking island. 2 blocks in any direction - flooded.
