I understand the pull of doomerism but I'll also point out that "red-state" organizers and activists have been living under, and resisting/rebuking, many and various forms of oppression for a long time and should be considered leaders in this moment.
Like I said back in 2017:

The polls tend to vacillate between 24% and 34%, depending on the specific question. So I call it 30% on the whole.
I think that's why generally TFG's floor was 30%, and his ceiling was usually 30%.
It's stubborn, and it's too big, but it's also a distinct minority that WILL LOSE if there's turnout.

Furthermore it's something where the enacting of it is ostensibly under his authority, rather than delegating to some other apparatus that could in turn be obstructed by the courts.
I absolutely hate thinking about this...

Huh, I wonder if, under this ruling, Biden can imprison the conservative justices, force the remaining back into session, force them to re-hear the case, and issue a new judgement.
Obviously a gross idea, but it seems like the least gross way to exploit the ruling, to just undo it.

I wonder, has anyone met a person who is both marginalized AND a libertarian?
Like, not from a marginalized group, but currently marginalized, so this wouldn't apply to Caitlyn Jenner.

To any "leftists" who think sitting out or 3rd party is a viable option.
Think about 2016. Would you rather Hillary had won?
Think about 2004. Would you rather Kerry had won?
Think about 2000. Would you rather Gore had won?
Are you really going to maintain there's no difference?

How generous of you to consider their "originalist" viewpoint as sincere rather than something that at the time conveniently lined up with their undisclosed priorities.

Anyone else would think there's value in a veneer of plausible deniability.

Importing this @volts.wtf thread from the bad place. It opens with a link to a piece that used official data to establish that yes, crime rates are indeed very much down recently. But here’s the thing, Project 2025’s Trump 2.0 promises to destroy that world in which we can “know” things like this.

Maybe, but doing anything significant with the money will get him sued for the money again.
He's been so uncooperative in the process so far that I would figure the system will assume he'll be trying to avoid compliance

It's really weird (it's not really weird) how states that ban abortions are also states where women can't get leave to take care of their children.

Words like "moderate" and "centrist" are weasel words with no clear meanings.
In San Francisco, they mask the *extreme* politics of tech figures who increasingly align with authoritarian Donald Trump.

Best television!?
We're in the golden age of TV right now. I get wishing we had more simple episodic story telling instead of all epic arcs and what not, but in general, sheesh, TV is WAY better these days than... maybe ever?

"Best Music"?
I find most music from my teens to be a bit painful these days. I've found so much good music off the mainstream that music from then feels like worn out nostalgia. It's often more of a memory than something I like on its own.

"Best Radio"?
This is a weird measure for me. I haven't listened to radio for quality in... decades.
Honestly, I mostly listen to snippets of RWNJ talk radio to keep tabs on their talking points, and that's just when driving for errands.
