I like AI (and studied it long ago) but not what people currently call AI... There are useful AI tools. Spell checkers, red eye removal in cameras, face detections in camera to focus on them, image manipulation tools (blurring the background, etc), washing machines adapting to the content,...

As a person who studied this, I wish people stopped calling large language models AI. It's like calling a V8 a warp drive - yes it's fast, yes, it's loud, but it's not even close.

I was working on some translations recently and found AI very useful. Not to do the actual job - that's the lazy and wrong way to use AI as you noted - but as a brainstorming partner. "Give me alternatives to this translation" "More concise" "Don't use the passive voice". It gave me some good ideas!

Part of a bio from someone who styles himself a lecturer. He's none of this. Unravelling the Symphony of Life. In the hallowed halls of academia, where the heartbeat of knowledge echoes, XXX stands as a maestro of the human bodyβ€”a captivating storyteller in the realm of Physiology and Anatomy.

Like all generative AI apps, Chat GPT scours the internet, taking without consent, the existing works of human creators. But it also cannot fathom the human factor & takes every lie, every conspiracy theory, every piece of insane twaddle out there. It can't be trusted to create anything worthy.

Is the same whit illustration :( the meaning of life is the process, the journey to reach the outcome that is lost when you cheat. You don't learn anything because there is no failure, no learning, just empty success.
