Mostly. Management would probably point to a wee bit of private/philanthropic finding but without public funding our universities would simply not exist. So I think seeing it as taxpayers’ and students’ money is the most honest take 🤷♀️

It is!! We are a public institution so this can be considered public $ - used in a case defending the university for *not* supporting a scholar doing PUBLIC good in a global pandemic, fulfilling the uni’s critic and conscience obligation.
