The difference between the 60's and now is if/when one of these students is murdered by the cops there will be zero outrage among the wider population. Not that there weren't "they deserved it" types back in 1970, but the level of uncaring in our modern time is unprecedented.

Rubbet bullets breaking bones and doing bruises and causing immense pain doesn't even go into the fact that rubber bullets have been shot into eyes causing life-long blindness to people at protests in the past, and that shooting them at point blank can cause them to penetrate skin. It is evil shit.

When we were in junior high we got a tour of the local police academy and got to hold the rubber bullets. I'd never want to get hit by one of those things going 250+ feet per second. Might as well beat someone with a 2x4.
