i should be applying to SSDI and Medicare… but i keep hoping i’ll recover any day. i have COBRA which is super expensive but i have maxed out my deductibles for the years. *thank whomever*, long term disability insurance which is pretty great. i can’t imagine how hard it must be to not have that.

I accidentally skipped my POTs meds for like a week, had my full faint happen today. was outside, opened the door, ac hit me and i woke up. made me realize how much my meds really do help. i used to just pre-syncope stuff only after the shower, temp changes, standing up fast. my meds really help!

i see a research specialist in POTs, she said pretty flatly that LC is going to result in cures we never thought we would have. much like the vaccine pushed mRNA dev, LC will likewise cause new treatments that also work for other immune response diseases. its feels so weird to feel good abt that.

(my body seems to reject the best treatments for my ra, biologics and it is so fucking heartbreaking. i get a few pain free months, a fucking miracle, look at me, tying my own shoes! and then… i get a flare up and i don’t quite recover fully, then another flare until the $1800/m shit wears off. 😖

thanks it is awful! even having it, i still can’t bring myself to think it is worse than cancer tho. not all cancers obvi. in some narrow ways it is worse, like it is easily communicable. but those are outweighed by things like we have prophylactics! hypothetically, we could even make it go away.

surely. my doctors all believe that already. i started having RA as a teen after a hospitalization due to Epstein Barr, that is too coincidental to ignore in my head… (i hope you had access to hydro chloroquine, my partner has lupus too and ugh, it was harder to find than my vyvanse is now!)

in this way i don’t think covid and cancer are all that different. my LC presents as at least 3 different diseases. had i not gotten it in Mar ‘20 i likely would had vaccine. failing that i would have gotten paxlovid. if thru that i *still* got LC, i still have treatments (near cures) for 2 of 3.

my partner has similar sensitivity that is pretty intense. sorry, it too is miserable to my layperson’s ear you sound like you—if you are willing and can find a practitioner of ISTDP—might get relief it’s short term, not intended forever. really helped me a lot. wish my insurance was accepted😤

i am so sorry. lived like that for about a year after getting shot at, it is miserable. i was so close to leaving the city, but an insurance mostly change, meant new therapist and got fixed, still have that feeling around guns, had to drop therapist. i hope you are in a position to get good help.
