I slapped a mosquito that got me in my room and it went down spinning like a downed X-Wing behind a bookshelf. Extremely scared that it survived and is going to have a training narrative where it comes back, buffed out on my blood, hungry for more.

No single thought has kept me going through my dissertation more than this: the dissertation is made of chapters, the chapters are made of sections, sections are made of paragraphs, paragraphs are made of sentences, and I can mostly arrange words into sentences if I concentrate.

Continental philosophy's tendency to recite the rosary of Aristotle-Kant-Hegel-Husserl-Heidegger has led both to an amazing conversation as well as a Habsburg-like effect wherein they've only ever talked to each other and the whole thing's inscrutable unless you digest the whole corpus.

The academia website offering a "PDF package" every time you download a PDF off there is extremely funny. Some poor programmer must have a gun pointed at their head, being commanded to invent new features weekly or else face the end.

I still think that marxist contribution to the study of modern policing is the correct view. Police produce capitalist order. Policing enforces the rule of property and criminalizes those left outside of it.
