Has Javier Bias always been like this? He seems to have turned into a reactionary climate denier but for some reason I do not remember him doing this prior to 1-2 years ago.

Or just get someone to incorporate a new company in the field. The conservatives on the court have blessed BS standing like 3 times already.

Homeless people can be arrested for sleeping, Presidents cannot be arrested for rampant graft and corruption done while in office. There is no clearer a summary of "conservative 'law and order'" than this.

OTOH most conservative judges weren't abiding by Chevron anyways. It's a shit ruling but actually might provide liberals with openings to knee cap any future Republican Admin and the Supreme Court

I mean... yes but then you think about it and it's not really remarkable at all. They have a toolbox to get them to their desired result, if textualism ain't doing it then they go elsewhere.

@fleerultra.bsky.social your opinion on this Gorsuch quote:

"what constitutes “involuntarily” homelessness... cannot be found in the Cruel and Unusual Punishments Clause. Nor do federal judges enjoy any special competence to provide them."

and then guts Chevron on the same day

There are also opportunities for liberals to go after environmental regulations as not being the "maximum technologically feasible". Liberal billionaires need to throw down a war chest and just sue every regulation coming out of the Trump Admin and force the Sup. Court to choke on their own mess.

This is very true. It also provides opportunities for liberals to blow up a lot of new regulations. Basically Loper Bright just means that no controversial regulation that someone decides to sue on will ever go anywhere without going all the way to the Supreme Court.

Liberal billionaires need to set aside a war chest to sue every. single. reg. in a friendly circuit. Nationwide injunction everything. Make the Supreme Court review everything. If this is the world they want they can live in it.

The silver lining in this is is that liberals can absolutely gum up every potential Republican regulation especially on the environmental front. New CAFE standards? Sorry these aren't the highest that is technically feasible according to me. New energy standards? Also need to be higher!

It is important to note the reason the conservatives are doing this: they have control over the courts. If they had a vice grip on the legislature or the executive they wouldn't feel the need to do any of this.

Respect your work but gonna disagree with you. Deep sea mining has a strong potential to be significantly less environmentally catastrophic than traditional mining. If it's between nodule roombas vs razing a swath of the Indonesian jungle... you might want to go for the roombas.

I actually use AI to help me write a homebrew DND campaign. It is really good at giving me stats for homebrew monsters and encounters and the tuning of the encounters is very accurate for the CR I ask for. HOWEVER: It is freakishly bad at writing a story/narrative.

I said it in another thread, the only reason it isn't that funny is because Always Sunny mastered the "foolish character does something non-PC and gets berated for the episode as they double, triple down on same" trope. It's been done a lot before and will continue to be done!

Always Sunny mastered this plot device already. You can't do it because they did it too well.

The reason that "can't be written anymore" is "foolish character comes up with non-PC idea" is a worn out subject for comedy. It's not funny anymore because it's been done A LOT. Always Sunny did this repeatedly and it's hard to replicate it at their level because theirs was hilarious.

I was about to say, I could 100% imagine a sitcom where a foolish character comes up with this idea and everyone tries to tell them why it's a bad idea and they won't get it. The problem with the episode is that it's so predictable and therefore not that funny anymore.

This is 100% true. I'm getting older and that has meant I don't care as much about the causes I used to. I try to make life better for my family and I don't feel like my actions affect much else. It's depressing but life grinds you down and makes you "conservative" in that it's easier to do nothing.

I suck at anything beyond the most simple option trade. Is there some financial engineering where I buy the stock and then short it and make a lot of money off of lending the stock and the short? Seems pretty dumb because you'd rather not buy the stock but someone has probably thought of something.
