ME: [googling Why Do I Have A Migraine?]
GOOGLE: You need caffeine. You drink too much caffeine. You need sleep. You sleep too much. You need to eat. Food can cause migraines. The weather changed & you should've figured out how to control that. You need to go back in time and-
I mean, on one hand, not helpful, and on the other hand, absolutely true. God I hate migraines. Just when I got good at dodging mine (I do get pre-pain auras and such) they decided to change format to make it harder to dodge.
i once amused myself by staring at the aura and thinking about how it looked artistically. and...they went away mostly after that.
no idea if it works for anyone else, but...

Modern medicine isnβt bad if you have certain easily fixable, obvious acute issues but outside of that itβs between useless and actively harmful
Part of the reason (aside from the general shittiness of Google,) that Google is giving answers like this is that the term "migraine" covers a range of headache disorders. There are also numerous headache types that are not medically considered "migraines."
As a chronic migraine sufferer. Yes! I also happen to live in the most air pressure unstable city in all of Canada, that is prone to a weather phenomenon called a "Chinook". Doctors are just like "Lol, move?" which is actually probably good advice if I could afford it π π€£
My favorite corollary is you didn't take the drugs, you took the drugs, wait not those drugs they don't work, you took the drugs for too many days in a row, ask your doctor for these special new drugs, your insurance doesn't cover that drug...
Sometimes a case of writer's block will end after a migraine, almost like a bunch of words and thoughts are being created, resolved, or reorganized in your brain while it's conscious, or else your disks are being defragmented... try scheduling your next brain defrag for when you are asleep! π
It's different for everyone. My 2 sisters, my 1 my brother & my son improve w/caffeine. My other brother & I cannot have caffeine at all (including chocolate). The yellowish sky before it rains really messes a lot of us up. Barometric pressure & hormones mess me up. It's a mess.
Something that can be a cause is neck muscle stiffness... I know that's what causes mine. Massaging the sides of my neck with my hands (from behind ear down to collar bone) can reduce them... It's something you could try, there's no harm done if it doesn't work for you! I hope you feel better!
