I remember seeing this in 1998 and thinking SNL ripped off The Nation, which had a big issue on media consolidation in 1996 that used octopi. Exactly like the video. Here’s a snippet from that June 3, 1996 issue. It looks very similar.

It changed! When I first saw the article, the first few entries had “stream it” on Amazon etc. But it was inconsistent; later in the article, those rental platforms were properly denoted with “rent it”. Anyway, it’s corrected now. Thanks for a great article.
