I keep seeing people use this "out of pocket" phrase in a bunch of different ways. I don't like it. To me, "out of pocket" means I am paying for something with my own money. It shouldn't mean other things.

Me too. I was born during the Ford Administration. I know center-left mediocrity is frustrating. I want more, too. I want single-payer healthcare. I want an end to right-to-work laws. I want higher taxes on the wealthy. But President Biden is the most progressive POTUS we've had in decades.
