Because North Carolina Republicans can't just jog through fields of disabled and immunocompromised people wacking their heads off with scythes, they've done the next best thing: Making it illegal to wear masks in public. ncnewsline.com/2024/05/15/n...
So we are forced to live by their faux Science and toddler tantrum on an adult level over a 7" x 4" cloth. Masks don't kill people, but their open carry without a permit that places no limits on weapon caliber size or magazine capacity will kill people.
Abraham Lincoln may be the worst President in our history. The civil war was a huge mistake. Fuck these Southern States, we should have let them secede. They are welcome to now.
This of course does not include proud boys or other right wing extremist groups, who most certainly will not see any enforcement of this law when they do their Nazi marches
It's funny because such laws were often passed to stop Klan rallies, then were repealed/unenforced when people who liked/belonged to the Klan/adjacent gained power. Now the same people are passing laws to target protests THEY don't like.
Anonymity is protected by the 1A, no matter who is doing it.
This is authoritarian bullshit in spades. So sick of this crap. To go from it's your "Choice" to wear a mask, to it's "Illegal" is insanity. The GOP are gutting Freedom. Tell me again how the Dems are just like the GOP?π€¬
this is so clearly and obviously unconstitutional that it should be legal to sue the fuckers to pay back the legal costs the state will pay to lose the defense of it
Granny might not have been arrested in 2019, but masks have since become a political issue (God help us). There will absolutely be people threatening to call the cops on people who refuse to take off their mask in a store.
Yes! This is the craziest thing the GOP here has done yet. My husband has cancer & we will continue to wear our masks! I dare them to arrest us; I know how to use the media.
Isn't this really just about NCs Big Brother being able to use Clearview facial recognition more effectively at polling stations? As the man said "This isn't about health care."
