I am not feeling the 4th of July this year. It is hard to celebrate America while women’s rights are being wiped out and SCOTUS is elevating a convicted rapist above the law. — Does anyone else feel this way?
Yes, 100% 🎯 I feel that same way. I've tried to feel celebratory, but to be honest, I was thrilled & so very proud last month on Juneteenth & PRIDE month. Then SCOTUS, I'm just ill about everything they've done thus far. Hopefully we can celebrate in Nov & wear our pink hats!
Tsunami coming 🌊🌊🌊
I am not feeling the 4th of July for the US this year but 4th of July in the UK the corrupt trump like conservative have been crushed by the Left although by UK standards they are not really left. 🌊
My husband has to work and I made some desserts for his coworkers since his fing Texas born white priviledged male company doesn't give a SH*t about their employees today
My 17 year old and I don't want to do anything today but my 13 year old was suppose to go with a friend to watch fireworks but they canceled on her and she was sad so I asked what would make her smile and she said fireworks and sunglasses sooooo...
Absolutely. We have a criminal SCOTUS that has ok’d bribery, rewritten Constitution and set Trump up for authoritarian regime, destroyed regulations completely by giving courts authority over experts.
I'm wearing my RBG shirt today. It says DISSENT and VOTE.
Definitely a strange holiday this year, and I have very missed emotions.
Also totally got teary/emotional at a parade earlier which is not standard.
On top of all that where I live is only even part of the US because American businessmen got the marines to help them stage a coup and overthrow Queen Liliʻuokakani's constitutional monarchy with representative assembly in 1893. So, the Supreme Court and Orange Insurrectionist thing kinda tracks.
I am still going to go watch the fireworks, though. Because if I don't embrace some child like happiness today, I will just be progressively madder tomorrow.
