John Roberts, in his 2005 confirmation hearing before the U.S. Senate: "I believe that no one is above the law under our system and that includes the president. The president is fully bound by the law.”
John Roberts, on Monday: 'But those of us on the right don't like that law, so we changed it.' 🤬

It certainly unnerved me, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Now’s the time every Democrat who called for Andrew Cuomo’s scalp should regret spinning a litany of trivial shit like a comment on a hair bun sex crimes.

👉 “While a group may not explicitly state support of a terrorist organization, silence about the proclivities of its activists speaks loudly. If an organization like WOL fails to repudiate repeated instances of Hamas and terrorism support at its events, then it is tacitly approving the practice.”

Who were the antisemites ordering Jews off the subway?
Were they with a group?
Does anyone know?

But Biden’s never been good on his feet.
He once called himself “a gaffe machine.”
It’s true his debate skills have declined since 2008 when he crushed Paul Ryan & so deftly deflected Sarah Palin’s barbs, but I can remember Obama also looking like a deer in the headlights in 1st 2012 debate.

He looked and sounded good last night.
Did you see his address to the nation on yesterday’s SCOTUS ruling?

In my area, it’s not temperature so much as the “sturm and drang” — precipitation, wind, humidity, air quality — that will kill you.

My pleasure.
The great frustration of the Obama presidency, to him and to us, was the gridlock.
Republicans controlled Congress and literally conspired on Inauguration Night to “deny him a win” on anything.
His youthful and inexperienced supporters blamed him; many still do.

Maybe so.
His last State of the Union speech knocked my socks off, not just the speech but the 45 mins of glad-handing afterwards.
But that was almost 4 months ago.
Still, brain decline is usually more gradual, I think, unless there’s a stroke or some catastrophic medical event.

Remember, President Obama couldn’t pay for that “just transition” without the cooperation of the House of Representatives, and Republicans won control of the House in 2010 and controlled both chambers as of 2014.
Under our Constitution, “the power of the purse rests solely in the House.”

What I remember is President Obama saying he wished he had spent more time selling his policies to the American people after working so hard to get them right.
“You have to tell people a story.”

I’m sure they did.
Remember, every POTUS has concierge care.
They just don’t announce every check up.

Addressing Rev yet replying to me could be either careless or bitchy.
Which was it?

As an “official act” only, though.

Yes, the first Women’s March was remarkable (I would say unique) in that the team made a concerted effort to organize and follow through with one action after another.
In that we can (somewhat) influence Congress, but it’s the grassroots organizing not the performance art that does it.

But they do nothing against SCOTUS.
The plain truth is SCOTUS is unmoved by demonstrations.

2/In fact, I can’t think of anything we’ve ever marched for since the 1960s & 1970s that has ever been stopped, changed or mitigated by demonstrating.
Marching is just a feel-good activity that takes time & energy but accomplishes nothing.
Our opponents see them as just “tantrums.”

I understand, but my point stands.
The first Women’s March was exhilarating: 4 million of us turned the streets of America into rivers of pink in support of women’s reproductive rights.
Roe vs Wade was overturned anyway.
Likewise confirming a rapist to the Supreme Court: Kavanaugh confirmed.

I’m afraid to comment.
The reprisals could be severe.
Fatal even.

“Morning-after thermonuclear beat downs from my race from the debate and polling geniuses like 538 predicted l’d lose by 2. And what happened? The only seat to flip and won by a historic margin (+5),” Fetterman added. “Chill the fuck out.”
