If it hasn't gotten any better, I noticed that Ghost reiterated on Twitter the other day that they're offering free migrations to those that got – ahem – stung by Beehiiv's price increase.

Sorry to hear that. I hope it's improved since then, & that you weren't hit by that price increase the other day. I don't mean to rub it in at all, but I think that that's why Casey Newton of Platformer chose not to migrate to Beehiiv, due to it similarly being VC-funded and so possibly dubious.

Following 2009’s swine flu being given the moniker The NAFTA Flu, some years ago I christened our upcoming #H5N1 bird flu as the #MonocultureFlu.

Or otherwise put, industrial agricultural monocultures are bad for human population health. Which is why 15 years ago I gave #H5N1 the moniker the #MonocultureFlu (after the 2009 swine flu was nicknamed the NAFTA Flu). We’ll get a big taste of why first-hand once H5N1 breaks out in September.

No, I don’t think CDC is saying COVID is airborne due to upcoming H5N1. But when H5N1 starts killing (tens of millions? of) people starting in Sept. I expect gov’ts will have to implement clean air policies. It’ll all be too little too late, but will be worthwhile for the post-H5N1/SARS-CoV-2 era.
