it was actually impressive how the entire MSM somehow memory holed the largest protest/uprising in US history, like we never got those "2 years later" reports - which, in my mind, suggests they were longterm more effective and more threatening than we remember.

The States Project is one of the best bang-for-your-buck options for your campaign donations.
Even beyond it, though, state legislatures deserve your attention. Next time you're tempted to send money to whoever's going to lose to MTG, send it instead to a contested state leg seat.

these are the people I still feel strongly will, in the last week or so, swing hard toward Biden - the status quo is comforting and this time around Trump just sounds like a blithering idiot who can't even properly crime

You know how sometimes in war there’s the one side who has rules and thinks they know how war is fought but then they’re shocked, SHOCKED, when the other side runs out of the bushes and like, stabs their horses and shit? And that side wins? Yeah I think about that phenomenon a lot these days.

the white evangelicals behind this power grab never imagined taking power via direct democracy - they know they aren't popular and they know they have to be as ruthless and cruel as possible - both to win power and to keep it

for minorities who intend to stay in red states the main thing is, think thru all the things they are prolly going to ban, which things you can't live without, how you're going to protect yourself and those you love, etc - nobody should tell you you have to move but also? you can be proactive

I think for most ppl it would just be an absolute emergency scenario? For me, I started making job plans abroad 3-4 years ago. I have published too many things critical of MAGA to stay under the radar very long as a Fed. I will most likely end up in Warsaw, a city I love very much.

African Americans will tell you that this country has never been fully a democracy, and white people are about to find out how the little democracy left is about to go up in a puff of smoke should Trump get back in the White House.
