So my MIL has been chatting with various famous people and I again question why I’m not finding a better way to combat this. Two thoughts 1) everyone needs community, even introverts 2) our resources are being abused by people who don’t care and we need to stop that. #UsingMyPowerForGood #ugh

One thing about complex systems is: the space of possibilities is mind-bogglingly large. Consider DNA. The human genome has about 3 billion base pairs. How well has evolution searched through all the possible genomes to find the fittest ones? Not very well at all. 🧵

As someone who's born and raised in the MENA and I know heat: do not go outside during the hottest part of the day, do not go for a walk, do not decide to do DIY, do not do manual labor, just do not! You can weed your damn garden at 7pm. Go back inside, turn on the ac/fan, hydrate, eat popsicles.

If there's a heaven, I've no doubt Ms. Parton is going there. The writer of that article, on the other hand, will be deeply surprised at her final destination. If there is no heaven, Ms. Parton is still a good example of public kindness and decency, and the author of the article is a fuckin' bigot.

The ONLY reason I don’t ditch threads is due to news/weather/sports coverage…otherwise threads is horrible. Sigh. In other news my usual afternoon of meeting is about to start. I usually only have a couple hours in the mornings to be productive 🤪
