I'm not a woman but as an autistic person with severe social anxiety, I can say that a bear has never:
1. Beaten me up for being gay.
2. Pulled a gun on my dog.
3. Passed laws making me less safe.
So as long as a bear is "over there" and not bothering me, I'd prefer a bear.
Women experience this question as "Aren't you afraid of men?", while men experience it as "Do you realize how dangerous a bear would be up close?" And then each thinks the other side is being ridiculous for answering a question that wasn't asked.
