I'm torn between 1) a boring stand 2) Empty it first obviously! 3) If you put it down how are you going to keep drinking from it?

Ah! The invitation said “skulls will be provided by host.” This is apparently a reference to drinking from the skulls of your enemies. Several members of our party are playing a game with their plastic skulls. I am told this is an authentic ancient Finnish tradition invented five minutes ago.

There are some glimmers of hope to be found in the Independents and Green success but we need people to recognise how awful Labour now are without turning back to the Conservatives. Even the Reform wins offer some hope that the duopoly is breaking -but that's like seeing hope in Trump.

It's awful but not sudden. Rosie Duffield's been a Labour MP for ages while openly espousing these views (just the most prominent instance)

This is a mischaracterisation. Labour has no *desire* to be anything but an Austerity party. It's a completely different party from the one Corbyn tried to lead. The key thing to realise is that they lie. Starmer today was almost all lies. It sounds good but not what he actually intends

When an article says "some scientists think" then remember this: I, a scientist, once thought I could fit a whole orange in my mouth. I could, it turns out, get it in there, but I hadn't given sufficient thought to the reverse operation.

At this point what is too radical when the goal is to protect as many people as possible for as long as we can? When the alternative is clearly fascism?

If you hear cruise companies telling you there ships are green then alarm bells should ring.

Cruises are far off from not making a significant impact on the climate, more so if they continue to get bigger and their numbers grow.

Ultimately, people like Johnson and Bindel seek to undermine trans rights by flaunting misdeeds of allies in the mistaken belief that human rights should be awarded on the basis of celebrity endorsement, and believe the rest of the world agrees with them. It's my hope people see through this.

When colonialism was popular- Zionism was an openly colonial project, in order to cater to Christian Zionists it became less of a secular movement and one based in biblical “history” and most recently its tried this “we are indigenous” argument. But what it’s always been is settler colonialism.

Why do we celebrate entrepreneurs for chasing passive income but condemn the idea of universal basic passive income as making people lazy? Both strategies aim for financial security without daily work. Let's normalize a financial floor for everyone, not just the investment-savvy with enough capital.

USA figures are misleading because so many people are simply divorced from reality China figures are misleading because people won't risk speaking out (or simply won't be accessible for questioning). It's simply not a good basis for judging this. More interesting for assessing popular perceptions
