All these people say they're trying to beat Donald Trump and none of them seem to be able to take five seconds to imagine what Donald Trump would say about their candidate picked by a brokered convention at the behest of the New York Times editorial board

True, but the US's primary system is an outlier; usually party members nominate candidates then the public vote for the options in order of preference. There's nothing undemocratic about that, but you're right that wouldn't stop false & misleading claims to the contrary.

Yes! I assume he would say the nominee is illegitimate and therefore he doesn’t have to debate them (so even if the new person is good at it that won’t matter) Then his crew will repeat it nonstop and media will greet every Dem with “is your nominee legit”. It’ll do great in the polls and vibes

All theses people say they are trying to beat Donald Trump but only the Philly Inquirer seem to understand how to do it, or willing to do anything about it…

A great way to endear yourself to disaffected voters in Georgia and Michigan is to unceremoniously dump the black candidate that you hand appointed four years ago because you don't think she can actually be president for some reason

Speaking of which - where is Trump? This is red meat for him to twist the knife. It’s strange

The pundit class (Centrist, Progressive, and Dirt-Bag Left) seems to forget that there was a primary. People voted. There was an option to vote for non-committed delegates. To replace Biden now is to engage in election nullification. To replace Biden now is to engage in a soft Jan. 6.

When will these people move on. This doesn't happen. It's not going to happen. If it did hap it would be a much bigger problem than what we have now. Jesus. He had an off night. Not a stroke on live TV.

And that’s if everything goes perfectly and there is zero disagreement or hard feelings among the democrats about the whole thing.

Folks need to read up on the history of that ‘68 Chicago convention. I get the high level of anxiety bc the seemingly worst thing has happened but man, people have lost their collective shit.

This big beautiful candidate, with tears in his eyes like you’ve never seen, he says “sir I’ve replaced Joe Biden in a brokered convention”

A lot of people confusing reasons for not replacing Biden with Harris (not polling any better, very bad performance in 2020, VPs historically failing to win the presidency outright) as reasons to replace her with people who have no experience in a national campaign and no democratic legitimacy
