The 14th Amendment says if you were involved in an insurrection you can't be president. SCOTUS said they won't allow anyone to enforce that because of reasons they made up.
The Constitution doesn't say the president is immune from criminal law. SCOTUS decided he is because of reasons they made up.

Just because you're used to the system to elect the US President doesn't make it really democratic; it's limited by first-past-the-post, the electoral college, the party-based primary system & money.
And without preferential voting the system reinforces the existing 2 incumbent parties.

Politicians knowing when to quit seem to have always been very rare; the ego that drives someone into such a job is the same thing that makes it difficult for them to know when to go (which would've been before the 1st primary).

Thanks for correcting, 2900 km is better but still not enough (yet),
12 000 km is far in the future.
Of course I'd have preferred if you'd put the correct number (2900) instead of changing to antiquated & unclear units π (I'm assuming you meant 1.6093 km rather than nautical mile, 1.852 km)

True, but the US's primary system is an outlier; usually party members nominate candidates then the public vote for the options in order of preference.
There's nothing undemocratic about that, but you're right that wouldn't stop false & misleading claims to the contrary.

Biden's facilitation of Israel's crimes in Gaza (& even attacking the ICC) also appears monumentally stupid in a country with optional voting.

1800 km isn't long distance:
SYD-SFO is about 12 000 km,
SYD-LHR 16 000 km, that's what's needed to fully replace kerosene-powered jets.
France has the right idea to replace as much air travel as possible with high speed (300 km/h+) electric rail, this can & should be done everywhere, immediately
