I've gotten people's rent covered, their meds, prevented evictions, kept kids from going hungry. That's not nothing. If you don't see stuff like that, that's the result of what powers your feed. You aren't interacting with the right people.

My solidarity work and educational efforts have done a great deal of good over the years. I'm far too disabled for in person activities, and I'm far from alone in that. Social media is a lifeline for many of us. I once helped someone flee their home country by crowdfunding on Facebook and Twitter.

Without all that training, it's likely I wouldn't even be able to walk. All those years of kicking drills did a lot for my ability to move precisely and manage my center of gravity.

Though to be fair, the gymnastics in the martial arts and so on did give me really good balance, which is very nice when you're tall with POTS & on blood thinners. I remember tossing 10 lb medicine balls back and forth in mixed martial arts class, discus throw style. Imagine a grippy bowling ball.

I was an athlete, though not the competitive kind. I could do diving somersaults from a slow jog on concrete without significant injury. I could something like 18 mph on rough ground. Run flat out 9,000 feet above sea level. I was extraordinary in ways I no longer am.

Lung disease & sedating medications have damped down my formerly nigh-omnipresent rage, which used to lie just under the surface. My truest self enabled to stay at the fore. Now if only I could do more with it. I know my solidarity work is important, morale is essential, but I miss my old body.

I've long surrounded myself with like-minded people, which generally means a buttload of trauma. A little compassion goes a long way. (A lot of compassion can save a life. Been on both ends of that one more than once each.)

Generally not in this context. It isn't just the issues mentioned above; I have a whole bunch of health problems which affect my ability to eat. Really appreciate the offer, though. That kind of thing is often extremely helpful to me in other ways.
