I've wondered about this myself. In areas that are more geologically stable but prone to lots of wind, it would make sense. As long as they weren't set up in a way to flood. So tricky!

Power cuts wake me up every time. And the one time the plug fell out of the power strip for some reason. Grrr. I spent a week in our RV once when we had a huge storm that cut power all over the state for a week. The RV has a cabin battery!

The absolutely wild thing is: This goes for ALL social aid. Just *giving people some fucking money,* literally going "OK, how much did you need?", cutting checks, and waving them out the door? COSTS LESS and HAS BETTER OUTCOMES than the current system's bureaucracy and means testing, EVERY TIME.

Add potatoes and mixed vegetables. Stir so the gravy doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot until the potatoes are cooked through. Remove from heat. Stir in the sour cream. This is good with crusty bread, garlic bread, or Triscuits. 4/4

Dice the potatoes, onions and chicken. Mix flour, pepper, garlic, and savory together. Dredge the chicken in it. In a large pot with a heavy bottom, sauté chicken and onion in the oil. Add water, sherry and Better than Bullion. Stir in the rest of the flour mixture. 3/4

We found this out the hard way when we bought new food once. It took us a few days to realize one of the cats was not eating at all and by then he had hepatic lipidosis. We pulled him through, but it was expensive, time consuming, and horribly smelly. Never bought that cat food again.

It took us three years of watching my MIL make her wonderful corn bread stuffing for Thanksgiving before we got anywhere near what she made. Turned out the secret was waaaay more milk than you thought was practical. It needs to be runny.
