If you are a “google school” you can try using the spaces function that’s linked to their gmail - it has chat, shared files and tasks - I’m using it for my lit mag production class and it’s pretty great and more user friendly than discord (which I used last year to just okay effect)

I share this same water usage stat with my undergrad students & colleagues when we talk about AI ethics and it’s a great bridge to thinking beyond plagiarism … and a good way to illustrate why you should look up common knowledge in a goddam book instead of clacking it into Copilot or whatever

As long as I've been a professor, I've thought of my students as people who are in my care. The idea that I would ever choose to use force against the people entrusted to my care is impossible to imagine. The fact that this is not a shared impossibility disgusts me entirely.
