I do this weird thing where, before I recommend a piece of media to someone, I’ll re-read/listen/watch it with them in mind to reinforce my initial suspicion that said person will enjoy said media. Must’ve read BKV and Staples’ “Saga” a dozen times now.

Pet peeve: Redundant translated words in media. Who does this serve? What does this add to the article? People who can read it can already understand it. People who can’t just see some squiggles that they’ll ignore. Just say “electric town” and be done.

I think maybe there was some syntactic ambiguity in my first post. I don’t at all mind that people are using these apps in public, but they shouldn’t be using them WHILE walking on a crowded pedestrian thoroughfare, is my gripe.

Because they’re invariably walking much slower than the rest of pedestrian traffic, not paying attention to their surroundings, and forcing everyone around them to accommodate them. You can step to the side and stop walking for a moment to catch a Pokémon.

Because if you out those sources and they take flack for it they’ll probably not talk to journalists in the future? Anonymous sources are frustrating to the public, but confidentiality can be important. Especially in today’s climate of public figures distrusting media full stop.
