I can definitely understand that argument, and have wondered about it myself. But I'd feel better about it if that was a united front some Dems were pushing rather than "we'll figure out who the candidate is at the DNC, who knows maybe it'll be Newsom! Or Whitmer!"

I remember when I was a kid and had to go into the hospital. I came out and saw my doctor in the hospital parking lot with his fancy car and said, being a kid, "wow, cool car". And he said, "I can afford it! Be a doctor!" And I think he taught me a different lesson about capitalism than he meant

That's a fair point. That's a thing where I no so little about how the sausage is made, I'd have to bow out. I had assumed that as he was making appointments his chief of staff and others would be weighing in so it wasn't him alone

I think there is definitely an argument of mentally fit vs unfit. But when I see "Biden is only at his best between 10 and 4" when we also get "Trump has to have only five bulleted sentences", I'd rather take the guy who needs naps.

I can't believe the same people who are waiting for a make believe Aaron Sorkin-style write-in deus ex machina Biden replacment are the same people who watched the actually Aaron Sorkin written West Wing which broke down how a Presidency is actually his entire administration and not just one man

This is one of those bits of sequential art that works so well that you don't need dialogue. Your eye takes in one image, then the next, the next, the next, and done. But with that little bit you have a wonderful story of two lovers sleeping in.

Just last night I got to see @mostlymartha.bsky.social give one of our niblings a note on how to dance on stage with his hands to be extended but not have his fingers stretched. And I swear when she demonstrated it, this perfectly captured Martha's energy

I'm in a hetero relationship and we've had to deal with so much "well, she really NEEDS a hysterectomy BUT we'd hate to do that to you..." (we're not going to have kids) that I've been tempted to get a vasectomy and bring in a doctor's note that I had it performed so she could get her medical care

It's exactly that. And I'm sure this is more creatively fulfilling than the thing he was imagining when he made that comment. And it was a thing made in passing, not really meant to be a definitive statement. But it just made me chuckle.

To be clear, he was coming off doing X-Men Last Stand and was moving to network TV. But, he was trash talking Lynda Carter, Adam West, Jonathan Frakes, and Mark Hamill when he said that. I have never interviewed someone and had them lose so much of my good will so quickly

I mean, Moonves also replaced what he saw as the CW's "girl power show" Veronica Mars with as what he saw as an equal but cheaper "girl power show" The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll because he doesn't understand women but that's a much, much smaller offense
