I guess at some point a decision needs to be made on which is less bad: Test scores, or 'soft' qualifiers like internships and extracurriculars. I actually feel it's the latter - kids from homes without much cash are super disadvantaged there. They can't take internships... They're working.

Ehh I'll be that guy. We we need to make way more effort to make MH care accessible to those who actually want it. But there is a lot of daylight between people experiencing mental illness, and those who are actively a danger to themselves and are not capable of seeking care for themselves.

Counterpoint: China is more likely to capitalize on Russian weakness than to lend actual military support. See their current salami slicing of Vladivostok. NK military support, in all likelihood limited to munitions. Russia doesn't need more manpower - it needs $ and hardware. NK can't provide.

I feel that in the absence of a unifying framework on physician's costs (which... seems unlikely) the Feds are most able to address this by way of a tax credit offsetting all admin costs for doctors. Especially helpful to GPs who get burned especially on those costs.
