It is long past time for way too many people to realize that we desperately need to either Expand the Supreme Court with actual progressives or actively remove those justices who have committed gross ethical offenses, & replace them people who, y'know, have morals & values beyond "power at any cost"
I agree with the sentiment re: removing the corrupt justices, but as long as the GOP remains committed to obstruction in Congress, there is AFAIK no legal mechanism for the justices' removal.
I was just posting about this yesterday.
3 things need to happen to the SCOTUS positions:
Term limits (2 terms of 4 years each max, 2nd term must be consecutive).
Morals/ethics guidelines that have a penalty of "immediate expulsion" if violated.
Age limits (min 35 years old, max 65).
Both require that we re-elect Biden/Harris, get the House back, hold onto the Senate & pick up a couple more seats, then get to work on fixing the Court. MI has a Dem trifecta & it matters. We need to do that at the federal level.
Here’s the thing about the damage caused by #SCOTUScorruption – IT CAN BE REVERSED. Just like SCOTUS reversed Roe v. Wad, a future SCOTUS can undo the destruction that has been unleashed by the corrupted ideologues sitting in seats for which they are abysmally unqualified.
Sorry, the right loves how they support the christofascist agenda, and the notional left is terrified of progressives and busy triangulating to the center to try to peel of voters comfortable with supporting christofascists.
The problem is that the only way to fight this would require more people to stop trying to be nice and wield power without permission seeking. The right spent decades and billions building an alternate reality machine to will their views into power. The left can't even confront their racist uncle.
It's so frustrating to me that Biden v Trump is a distraction to the fact that it's the 15th century and the Church is making a power grab while the royals duke it out.
