Tbf I have just experienced a range of historical England songs at my local’s celebrations and there’s worse out there than Vindaloo

I can preemptively sense unprecedented levels of Vindaloo being sung across the country this weekend

Remember reading an interview with Fauci where he said “well I’m in the clinic at 8 am and reading/writing papers until 10 pm” and my brother in Christ, you’re 80, you don’t need to do this. In fact you didn’t need to do it when you were 60, or 40

Wonder if part of the increasing geriatrification of the Democrats (Feinstein, Ginsberg and now Biden) is due to the American tendency to elevate work above all other aspects of your identity, even up to ignoring the realities of aging

The stupidest, most pathetic thing the Tories came up with, and that's not getting into how it was also a transparent lie

All the US news headlines about France being in “political limbo” and “uncertainty” now are wild to read, because the actual vibe over here is “whatever, we got a coalition that kept the fascists from getting in control, we’ll figure out the rest as we go”

Well yes, I can only imagine the common solution to this is to lie, which seems like a weird incentive to set up for people as they re-enter the workforce, but what do I know

Maybe I’m overestimating how much hassle it would be, but I can only imagine that the sort of busywork you’d need to do to fill 7 hours a day would get in the way of actually finding a job you’re suited for

Excitingly me and my partner are both currently out of work and presumably eligible for Universal Credit, but the prospect of having to show evidence that we’re job hunting for 35 hours a week is enough to put us off. So job done from the DWP’s perspective I guess

"Either the triumph of Imperialism and the collapse of all civilization as in ancient Rome, depopulation, desolation, degeneration – a great cemetery. Or the victory of Socialism, that means the conscious active struggle of the International Proletariat against Imperialism and its method of war."

So: Joanna Cherry lost. Rosie Duffield won, but in a Labour landslide saw her share of vote reduced. Kellie-Jay Keen got less than 200 votes. Maybe being a highly vocal bigot isn't the vote winner the punditocracy would love you to think?
