Oh I too am weary with the insidious rehabilitation of these venal motherfuckers. I (think I) remember when disgrace meant disgrace and erasure from the political landscape, but this may be nostalgia and/or being less engaged with what was actually going on talking.

This is great news. I recently got back in to Formula 1, and was heartened to learn they're aiming for Net Zero by 2030 themselves. It might be partly to do with economy, and partly with image, but one of the first aims, over and above F1 already using hybrid engines. is to become fossil fuel free.

Tom Hardy strikes me as a guy who'd be on board for "the right project", so maybe a Max-centric prequel, or sequel, to Fury Road. I'll buy shares in popcorn.

Now I've *finally* watched it, gosh yes! It took me a little while to get over "that nose", and I thought perhaps ATJ takes a little while to go full Charlize but she did get there.
I'm not sure exactly where George would take it from here, but I'm well on board to find out.

True. You don't have to be dumb as a bag of rocks to be a rabid Tory but all the evidence suggests it certainly helps.

Oh, oh no. Not all that surprising, given the idyllic huge country house/horsey/hunting life they project in Drive to Survive. Don't really strike me as natural Labour voters.
They're welcome to each other, frankly.

This (which came to me via @rhiggitt.bsky.social) is an absolutely *superb* longish read, in which the long brown envelope of truth lands on the doormat of generative AI. I want to sample the best bits and mix it up with Yelloβs Oh Yeah and use it as my entry music.

What was the plan if one of these imaginary candidates got elected d'you reckon? Find someone to pretend to be them for the foreseeable future? It's almost comedically bad.

When you start thinking that people who make dark art must surely be dark people, remember that Cannibal Corpse vocalist George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher is famous for playing claw machines on tour and donating the stuffed animals he wins to local toy drives and children's hospitals.

I thought there'd be a scandal involving Reform and the Short Money, but I admit I didn't think it would relate to being paid based on votes for people who don't exist.

I don't want to minimise the book thing because ABSOLUTELY. But, yes and...please understand that this is also true of anything, everything. Any product you like, small business you shop with, artist you love. The internet cannot help you, the person-to-person word of a friend is all that works.

Do I have any scientist followers who are also Italian speakers? Someone elsewhere is arguing that thereβs only one word for both breathing and respiration in Italian (which I believe) and thus they arenβt distinguished as separate processes in biology (which I do not). Anyone shed any light?

Same in the UK I'm afraid. I had a bunch of appointment last year, now more this year, and I can't think of a single health care professional I've seen masked, and just a handful of patients. It was quite an anomaly when one consultant I saw offered to mask up if I'd prefer, as I was already. π
