Quick question: Which motherfucker is it who decided that the controls and indicators of dishwashers should be on the part of it that you can't see while it's working?

I was just ranting about: why does Teams not have an Outlook icon/new mail indicator? It can pull in your calendar (badly) but not just tell you you have mail?

The fact that Trump is actually weakly attempting to pretend he doesn’t back Project 2025 = EXACTLY why you need to be telling everyone you know about their evil, violent plans.

One of the worst things about depression is that, no matter how many times you go through it, you don't really see how deep in it you are at the time.

Shit, just thinking about how much heat pollution we might be able to cut down on if we just recaptured it and made energy out of it.

Here's a quick thought experiment: if the Supreme Court is pushing so hard for no consequences for the President ever, why can't Biden kick all of their asses off the Supreme Court without repercussions? 🤔

it's going to be hilarious when, in a couple years, it comes out that all the waymo self-driving cabs were actually being guided by remote operators in an office park outside Lagos for $3.26/hour.

Like, cleaning/detailing content? Woodworking? AAAALLLLLL of the home reno content out there? And they're making more money off the videos of their work than the work itself.

It's kinda fucked up if you think about how a good chunk of creators/influencers these days are basically tradespeople or service people, who are supplementing their income as revenue, because pay across the board hasn't kept up with cost of living.

We got tricked by science fiction into thinking a futuristic city is all about flying cars and crystal towers and hologram billboards but what it really looks like is nice apartment blocks, good mass transit, pedestrian zones with shade trees and safe bike lanes.

You know what? I'm also not gonna be accepting "unwashed masses" anymore. It's a classist dog whistle. If you're a billionaire or even a proto-millionaire and you're thinking in terms of "unwashed masses" you need to invest in fucking clean water access programs.

i've always loved the Terry Pratchett Boots Theory of socioeconomics but it's really striking now how it's slowly becoming inaccurate bc so many companies straight up do not make good products anymore. not even rich people can buy things that aren't designed to break in 3 years bc they don't exist

I mean for a while there Ghostbusters had 2 films, 2 cartoon spinoffs, and a bunch of comics... But IDK if that counts cause the original films always had more hype than the TV iterations.
Trying to think if there are other cartoon examples...

Lately I’ve been thinking about all the “crazy” stories over the years that men in entertainment would tell about Courtney Love, and knowing now that she was warning people about Harvey Weinstein 20+ years ago, I’d really love to hear her sides of those stories.

It's really weird that a lot of veterinary medicines are repackaged from human or farm use. So you go through experiences like "here try to squirt 2.5mg of this maple syrup flavored gel down your cat's throat three times a day and try not to get murdered in the process."
