Criticism of trump, the most colorful and prolific wrongdoer in modern politics, is “nothing new”. Conversely, Biden being old “validates a longstanding narrative”.
OMG I so want to just rinse and repeat all the problems with the convicted 34 count felon Trump and his inability to keep a coherent thought, his homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, antisemitic, overly old, likely at least stage 1 dementia, drug harmed, rapist, Islamaphobic, fascist shit self.
They have nothing on Biden except that he's old so that has to be the story. It has to be the story because they need a scandal. Biden is the most clean shaven, boring president while Trump is a consistent gold mine of new scandals, but those scandals are old news. Make it make sense.

Biden being old --- and possibly even senile! --- is *NOT* a bigger story than:
- Russia holding an American hostage on Trump's behalf
- Trump promising to prosecute his opponents in tribunals
- SCOTUS ending democracy
- The Epstein transcripts

Never occurs to them it might be easier to defeat trump if the news kept blasting how he wants to subject his political enemies to military tribunals? Might even shift the almighty polling a bit. It certainly isn't 'fresh news' to rehash the same Q all week but add a quote.
The very dim silver lining is if Trump wins and they line these press knuckleheads up against the wall at least it will be televised. Cold comfort in the long run I guess.

You absolutely know if Biden had spent the whole speech defending his age and capacity this dude would be saying Biden is so desperate to fend off the issue that he spent all his time on it rather than taking on the real attack on Trump's own capacity and danger to the republic.
It definitely seems the case that people who should be more savvy about what's going seem to have missed that Trump being a firehose of bullshit we stop talking about because we're tired is entirely the point

But you see, an old person existing in public is much more exciting than things like sexual assault, cover-ups and fraud. That's why Law & Order: Retirement Center ran for so many season while L&O: SVU flopped out of the gate.
