I’m unashamedly parasocial with my podcasts. I openly admit that I have outsourced ‘having mates’ to them sometimes. It gets so bad that I often avoid episodes with guests because, on some level, I’m like, “You brought a STRANGER to OUR hang!? NOT COOL ‘bunch of improv people from Chicago’!!”

Dreamt that Huck had, somehow, manifested as a human being - albeit a mute one. He handed me a note saying that he didn’t want to be a dog anymore. It said that he wanted to go and study fashion and textiles at uni and would I release him from his ‘contract’? Woke up DEVASTATED!

This wont be news to anyone but… …As of May, we’re at 35,562 deaths in Gaza That’s 82% of The Blitz (51% all UK civilian casualties during WW2) and rising 1/3 of these are children Israel’s losses numbered 1478 …it shouldn’t just numbers but no moral conception of war justifies this imbalance

Nothing illustrates that better than Jenny Colgan on Comfort Blanket working out that Arnie in the Terminator isn’t the story at all. He’s just a plot timer. An oncoming truck. A deadline for the romance to blossom. “Arnie is the prom” is my favourite writing insight in ages. That’s plot v story.
