What if your phone number is way out of date, location-wise? Do they cross-check databases? My phone number is from California, so when I called my governor recently (New Hampshire) I used a Google Voice number with 603 area code hoping that would help.

We've now reached 200 death row exonerations. Meanwhile, the state with the most (Florida) is pushing to limit appeals, carry out executions more quickly, allow death sentences from non-unanimous juries, and impose the death penalty for crimes other than homicide.

If SCOTUS rules it’s unconstitutional to convict someone using a certain type of evidence, that’s generally grounds for challenging the conviction. It’s not like a new law has been passed; SCOTUS is just (in theory, lol) saying that’s what the Constitution meant all along.

I’d like to hear the lawyers chime in on this. Not only does today’s decision confer broad immunity, it also makes a wide swath of Trump’s conversations in office inadmissible as evidence. I fear that every case against Trump is now at risk to at least some extent, including his NY conviction.
