the thing about Trump repeatedly insisting that he didn't technically r*pe anyone is that it draws attention to the fact he was found liable for sexual abuse, which in and of itself should be disqualifying
In their minds the line between sexual assault and rape is closer to nonconsensual rough housing, where it's actually more like between using a penis vs a finger/bottle/broomstick.
The article says about the judge:
โBut he said that the conduct the jury effectively found Trump liable for โ forced digital penetration โ meets a more common definition of rape.โ
If Joe Biden was running for reelection this would be a good day to release a memo stating
"Joe Biden considers stuffing your fingers inside a woman in a dressing room without her consent rape, and invites the leadership of the GOP to state their own opinion on the matter for the record."
I think one of the reasons why the Republican party never disqualified Trump before getting the nomination for 2016 was because they found lowering their own standards for office attractive, but unable to do it on their own.
I think journalists and pundits that interview his surrogates should be asked to explain the goddamn difference between r*pe and sexual abuse when they try to claim that he wasn't "technically" found liable for the first.
Sure, they'll stop coming on the shows but at least the laundering would end.
Also, "did not technically rape" leaves people to wonder just what vile, disgusting thing he DID do.
Of course, his followers will think it was awesome, whatever it was.
I threw up a little when rape survivor and GOP rep Nancy Mace started in with, "But it was only a CIVIL trial!" ๐คข๐คฎ
It would be so sweet if she got primaried out by her own party.
