Totally agree on that. I’m still hoping enough progressive leaders are in Biden’s face impressing upon him the urgency of the moment so he actually *does* something—despite all evidence to the contrary.

It’s already a comfort—as it’s giving me the feeling that by reading it, at least I’m doing *something* but I hope that it will also become, for myself and for many others, a call to real action. Can’t give in to despair, right?

The electoral problem has become, as the IRA gloated to Thatcher, that the GOP only needs to get lucky once and the Democrats need to be lucky forever. Either they’re going to do something about the court - now, not eventually - or we will simply play iterations of this game until the GOP wins.

Just at the most basic level it is really unhealthy to have to thought about Donald Trump as much as everyone in America has over the last nine or so years. Spending a decade of my life thinking about a super boring, super shitty crook and all the bad stuff he's doing or might do. It's embarrassing.

In my experience, two-a-days were about learning & competition, not masochism. We went from the first/second week of August to the first week of September, and those three-four weeks were barely enough time to learn playbook/schemes. Maybe I was lucky not to have any real assholes for coaches, tho.

When we found this beautiful eastern garter snake, she was all tangled up in my backyard pollinator garden’s mesh fencing. I gently, gingerly snipped her free, and thankfully, she was totally uninjured. After catching her breath and her bearings, she found her way safely into the woods.

Got some gardening done for the first time in forever. Planted my over-wintered canna lily rhizomes, up-potted tomatoes; transplanted marigold seedlings; open-sowed nasturtiums, marjoram, basil, (more) chives, (more) marigolds; and tended to the Swiss chard sproutlings.

I’m 41. Nearing the end of a multi-year process to switch careers to become a public school teacher. Currently a long-term sub, but before September I hadn’t really been in a public school since graduating HS in ‘01. Just watched a training video about lockdown drills, etc... It’s a whole new world.

This happened to my family when my grandma passed away. She’d spent the end of her life in long-term care financed by Medicaid; after she died, her life insurance benefits and estate were completely wiped out, less the cost of her funeral.
