I truly think the antidote to the rising horrors of our now is to over emphasize the value of all that is human-just go all in. We become better humans by insisting every single person has worth, should be treated with dignity, and deserves to exist. If we do that everyone else is better off too.

Do people really not know that the DNC is a weak institution, mostly raises and spreads campaign money to nominees, and has virtually zero influence over who gets nominated? Are you under the impression that the US has parliamentary parties that pick their own Prime Minister or something?

I know everyone is already mad about the great gatsby thing and I am preaching to the choir but reading a lot is one of best tickets kids in bad situations have out of there both in short term escapism and long term educational opportunities. It’s scary that it doesn’t seem emphasized anymore

Was just asked in an interview what one piece of advice I have for new writers. Enjoy the act of writing. If you can enjoy the process--the one thing you can control--then you'll be more resilient in the face of the things you can't control. And in this business, you can't control most of it.
