I am literally a professional politics-knower and I can confirm that our ability to predict what will happen next is literally never as good as pundits like to pretend it is. As I tell my grad students, social science doesn't do point predictions.

This is something that's been bugging me. The US is a party to the Genocide Convention. Article IV states that even "constitutionally responsible rulers" will be punished. The provisions have been incorporated into domestic law, with no exceptions for public office or official acts. Now what?

I’m just so pleased that the court decided homeless people can be arrested for existing, the government cannot govern, and the president cannot be prosecuted for committing crimes, all in the same week. Blitzkrieg doesn’t begin to cover what has happened to the rule of law.

Seems impossibly hard for Western media to internalize the reality that Ru is a shadow of the superpower the USSR was. I had to emphasize 2-3 times that Pu’s NK visit shows Ru’s desperation and rogue status, rather than some spectacular military/econ development that’ll help Ru win against Ukr.
