The Court ruling today is terrible but expected. I will just gently remind everyone that the election hasn’t happened yet. We shouldn’t assume the worst outcome as a foregone conclusion. That only encourages more apathy than many are already feeling.

I think rejecting normal voting comes down to seeing it as an exercise where you keep doing the same thing expecting a different result. I don’t say it’s insanity because I think of it more as establishing the underlying conditions for change. One set of conditions is far more favorable still.

I think there was a turn in the mid-aughts. Commercials started featuring the actors talents more instead of just having them show up with “hey, its that person you know from the thing. buy pepsi.” This has given actors license to take more of these commercial “roles”.
