NYPDâs Straregic Response Group was designed to be a counterterrorism unit that was repurposed for protest policing. Most notably, SRG was responsible for the human rights violations that took place during the George Floyd protests. This is whoâs attacking students at Columbia right now.

FWIW anticipating not everyone would/could use the map, we wrote down all the encampments with arrests, prosecutors who have responded, prosecutors with elections, and prosecutors in jurisdictions where there are arrests in the story, so at least we got the most important info searchable that way!

ohhh interesting thank you! I notice it's a little finicky now for me on desktop (on chrome on a Mac laptop) though it eventually works if I keep trying. Not ideal obv. This is my first time using Flourish to make maps so lots of troubleshooting! Are you using Chrome on a Mac too?
