Our sweet girl Sasha crossed the rainbow Bridge today. She was a fighter right up until the end. Her heart stayed strong even though her body was not strong anymore. We are going to miss her so much.

Get your flu shot while you are at it. Most places will do both with one trip

In Peds we are seeing a lot of combo stuff. In the past we would get say flu or RSV. Now we are seeing RSV with humanmetapnumo et al. The combo infections are tough even if you are healthy

Can I make a boring but important suggestion for a New Year’s resolution? If you are able to, start a savings account just for vet bills and put a little aside each month in 2024. It takes some of the panic out of emergencies if you have a special fund set aside.

Pupdate: don't really know why she spiked but we are keeping on with the glucose curve and probably have to adjust her insulin which is weird because it's so sudden but nothing wrong with her. Last reading a few minutes ago was 387 so far cry from >750 as it was for hours

Could use some good thoughts for Sasha right now. Her sugar is so high the meter won't measure it and it's not coming down to a level where I can put a number to it. We are going to the vet at noon but I really would love a number at some point before that🐶💙🐶💙🐶💙

If you're interested, the paper Pr*gerU cites ("Measuring the quantity of harmful volatile organic compounds inhaled through masks") is actually about offgassing of VOCs from KF94's If you're at all concerned? Take your mask out of its packaging for a couple of hours before you first put it on.
