I often see people desperately worried about loud and angry misinterpretation, willful or otherwise, of their work by people with limited experience with fiction, low reading comprehension skills, or malice at their core.
And I cannot say this enough: fuck them kids. Do what you want.

I see other writers bring this up, and I agree: I think it would behoove Democratic leadership in this country to stop aligning with the right and start working overtime to fire up people and enable them to real action, lest the masses fall into widespread desperation and chaos.

How do you get people organized on the level we need to enact serious change, without a lot of money and powerful voices to lead them? So many good people are out there, but then the hammer falls. What desperate thing will bring people together in lieu of leadership?

I believe people do care, a great deal, but there is a lot of shaming and blaming going around that is also unfair. I read more and more about people wanting strikes and similar actions, but all the above means people are not organized. That might be the missing element.

I don't think people stick their heads in the sand so much as try to get by: rents, food, travel, are all out of reach for too many people. Add in disease, knowledge of climate change and global strife we have no power to influence? We need a better way forward than just Do Something.

I do appreciate this post, but I think the reality of the masses being overwhelmed/helpless by the outrageous amount of problems we're facing is what keeps us locked in, not being ignorant or uncaring. A whole planet has screamed to end genocide in Gaza and it doesn't stop.

In light of the Labour manifesto: Trans rights _are_ women's rights.
I don't mean that in a "Trans Rights Are Human Rights" way, I mean that anti-trans policies are inevitably harmful to all women (as women), and, conversely, that trans-positive norms are a proximal boon to women.

We banned CFCs to protect and heal the ozone and now satellite constellations might burn it up again.
Starlink will be burning up 2,000 satellites per year in perpetuity for its service.

One way you know Martha-Ann Alito is a true Christian, a woman of sincere faith, is that she daydreams about using a Sacred Heart of Jesus flag to get back at her neighbors for respecting LGBTQ people's right to exist. She embodies the timeless wisdom of His teaching: "Hate thy neighbor."

Post-50, functioning on maybe three decent brain cells at any given time? I gave up hope of getting the hang of anything a long time ago. I just stare at things and nod when spoken to.

I remember when a member of our family said we were absurd for predicting the GOP would roll back LGBTQ rights. Flash forward: the Colorado GOP is telling people to burn Pride flags, and the GOP stooges on the Supreme Court are talking about how Obergefell was wrongly decided. Who knew? WE KNEW.

2 years ago on this day I had a series of medical crises that changed my life forever.
It costs $840/day for additional care I need. It is unsustainable. This is structural ableism.
I am crowdfunding again so I can live in the community.

Transphobes going after cis people is the very predictable outcome of them being allowed to carry on the way they have, being allowed to influence policy and sporting body decisions. When you believe trans women aren't women, no women are women 🤷
